– “I told him I don’t want to talk to him until I get back. No boys, no distractions until we win the trophy” – Jesse respected Rachel not wanting anything to distract her before her big performance, he secretly came to support her - but didn’t tell her beforehand because, again, he was respecting her wishes not to be distracted. Alternately Finn, the supposed better choice, disrespected her wishes, persuaded her to go for a day and evening out instead of rehearsing and instead of letting her focus on her performance, he instead made it all about him – and how they needed to get back together.
No.2
– “I was into it at first because I thought it would be good acting exercise, but now I think I kind of like her. I don’t want her to get hurt” – Jesse may have started his relationship with Rachel under false pretences, but by the end of it - it was quite clear he’d developed genuine feelings for her.
No.5
– “Rachel I did wrong by you last year, and I came back to make that wrong right”
No.3
–“A dream is something that fills up the emptiness inside. The one thing that you know if it came true all the hurt would go away. You singing ‘Don’t Cry For Me Argentina’ in front of a sold-out crowd is not a fantasy. It’s an inevitability” – Jesse knows that Rachel’s dreams lie in show business and Broadway – He’s always supported this, and has never attempted to stand in the way of those dreams.

No.1
– “I came back to see you, Rachel. What I did to you - It’s my one great regret. I traded love for a fourth consecutive National championship. It was a bum deal” – He comes back to make amends with Rachel because he’s truly sorry, and regretful over what he did – And during his apology he made reference to the fact that yes, he did and still does in fact love Rachel.
